그래서 하나님은 선교사를 만드셨습니다
태초에 하나님은 자신의 형상대로 사람을 창조하셨습니다.
주님은 선선한 바람이 불 때
에덴동산을 사람과 함께 거니셨으나
죄가 그 연합을 깨버렸습니다
그래서 하나님은 선교사를 만드셨습니다.
하나님이 말씀하셨습니다.‘
현상유지에 머무는 삶을 거절하고
부유한 삶의 꿈을 내려놓고
가족을 떠나 먼 땅까지 날아가며
한 번도 들어보지 못한 언어를 배우고
털털거리는 버스를 타고
낙타 등을 타고
아무 곳에서나 자고
아무 것이나 먹으며 뜨거운 열기를 견디고
혹한과 싸우면서도 얼굴에 미소를 띠며
자기 민족이 아닌 다른 나라 사람들에게 기꺼이
복음을 가져갈 수 있는 누군가가 나는 필요하다.’
그래서 하나님은 선교사를 만드셨습니다.
하나님이 말씀하셨습니다.
‘추수할 것은 많은데 씨를 뿌리고
땅을 기경하고 씨앗에 물을 주고
추수를 거둘 준비가 된 누군가가 나는 필요하다.
가서 훈련하고 추수를 배가하고
부르심에 응답하여 그 대가를 지불할 누군가가..’
그래서 하나님은 선교사를 만드셨습니다.
하나님이 말씀하셨습니다.
‘모든 사람의 과격한 종이 되어 가장 천한 일을 떠맡고
가난한 자들의 발을 씻어주고 아픈 자들을 돌보며
그들의 상처를 닦아줄 누군가가 나는 필요하다.
갇힌 자를 찾아가고
과부와 고아를 돌보며
먼지 속의 아이 곁에 앉아서
그들에게 나의 사랑을 말해줄 누군가가 나는 필요하다.’
그래서 하나님은 선교사를 만드셨습니다.
하나님이 말씀하셨습니다.
눈 먼 자가 볼 수 있음을
저는 자가 걸을 수 있음을
죽은 자가 다시 살아날 수 있음을 믿을
누군가가 나는 필요하다
오랜 시간을 기도하고
말할 수 없는 탄식과 간구로 밤을 지새워 중보하며
한 영혼이 구원될 수 있게 할 누군가가…
‘하나님은 말씀하셨습니다.
‘정직하고 용감하며
은혜와 자비와 긍휼이 충만하며
두려움과 수동성에서 벗어나서
참된 정체성을 알고 행하는 누군가가 나는 필요하다.
사랑으로 불타며 진리로 허리띠를 띠고
하나님의 영광을 찬란하게 나타낼 누군가가…’
그래서 하나님은 선교사를 만드셨습니다.
하나님이 말씀하셨습니다.
‘그들에게 청하기 전에 먼저 ‘예‘라고 답해 줄 누군가가 나는 필요하다.
외딴 섬으로
불모의 사막으로
도심으로
닫혀있는 나라로
이웃 사람에게로
명문대학으로 가서
복음이 닿지 않은 사람들에게 복음을 전할 누군가가…
누가 산을 넘고
장애물을 견디며 가겠는가?
한 번도 들어보지 못한 분을 어떻게 그들이 믿겠는가?
전파하는 자가 없이 어떻게 그들이 듣겠는가?
보내지 않으면 어떻게 그들이 전할 수 있겠는가?
그래서 하나님은 선교사를 만드셨습니다.
주님! 내가 여기 있사오니 나를 보내소서!

In the beginning God created man in His own image
He walked with man in the court of Eden
But satan interrupted that union
So God Created the Missionary
God said ‘I need
someone willing to
say ‘no’ to the status quo ‘no’ to the dream of wealth
leave their families to fly to a distant land
and learn the language they have never heard
ride in cramped buses on backs of camels;
someone who would
sleep anywhere
eat anything
bear the heat
and fight the freeze
with a smile on their face
just to take the gospel to a people not their own.’
So God Created the Missionary
God said ‘Because the harvest is plentiful
I need
someone ready to sow the seed
to plow the ground water the seed
and reap the harvest which is right
someone to go and train
to multiply the crops
and to answer the call
and pay the price’

God said ‘I need
someone who is a radical servant of all
taking the loneliest job
washing the feet of the poor
caring for the sick
and cleaning their wounds.
I need
someone to visit the prisoner
care for the widow and the orphan
to sit in the dust with a child
and tell them that they are loved.’
So God Made the Missionary
God said He needed
someone who would believe
that blind eyes could see
that lame feet could walk
and that the dead could live again;
someone who would pray long hours
and intercede through the night
with the wordless groans of petitions
so that one soul might be saved
God said ‘I need
someone honest and brave
full of grace mercy and compassion
free from fear and passivity
walking in true identity
someone burning with love
and girded with truths
someone who radiantly reflect God’s glory.’
